2010-2011 No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Jasper County School District (JCSD) must offer all students enrolled at: Hardeeville Elementary Ridgeland Elementary and, Ridgeland Middle

the option to either: (1) request a transfer to attend The SC Virtual Charter Schools; or (2) remain at the school and request free tutoring from a state approved provider in the fall  of 2010; or (3) remain at the school and participate in the school wide programs.   The criteria for each option are outlined below: (1) Public School Choice Option: Attend The SC Virtual Charter Schools         2) Supplemental Education Services (SES) Option: · Parent selection of state approved tutor · Student eligibility for Federal Free or Reduced Lunch Program · Student ranking based on academic need (should there not be enough funds to implement)   Procedures and Timeline   1. No Child Left Behind Parent Choice Notification Process: Parents of students enrolled in eligible Title I schools will be notified by the following media venues of their options for Public School Choice and Supplemental Educational Services (SES) in Jasper County School District (JCSD). · Letters will be mailed to the homes of the students enrolled in the eligible Title I schools notifying parents of their options; · Press release from the JCSD district’s website (This is the Public Notice Page) and, · Local newspapers: Jasper County Sun, Hardeeville Today               Week  of July 25, 2010   Week of August 2 and August 9th Parents have the right to request a transfer from Title I Schools identified for school improvement as defined by the federal law :   Parents must complete and submit the JCSD NCLB Public School Transfer Request Form by:5:00pm,  Friday, August 13, 2010 Parents may deliver the letter  in person or mail it to the JCSD NCLB Public School Transfer Request Form to the following address:                                      JCSD Title I Office     10942 Jacob Smart Blvd     Ridgeland, SC 29936     JCSD-NCLB Public School Transfer Request Forms received after 5:00pm, Friday, August 13, 2010 will not be processed.     Incomplete forms will not be processed.       Parents may contact Joyce Gerald @ 717-1151 or Linda Brownlee @ 717-1113 for more details.     Parents must accept or decline the transfer to the SC Virtual Charter School or Accept Supplemental Education Services (SES)   3. SES Procedures and Timeline: The timeline for SES will be published as soon as it is received from the South Carolina Department of Education.     Confirmation Process: Parents will receive two final Public School Choice Confirmation Forms (Sending / Receiving).
