Hardeeville Elementary School Guidance Program is based on the South Carolina model. Our Philosophy and Rationale is: All children are unique and should be respected with dignity. Every student can succeed at high levels. Learning is a lifelong process. Fostering a positive self-image is the collaborative effort of the school, home and community leading to responsible and productive citizenship. Every student needs appropriate personal and social skills to achieve optimum benefits from the educational program. Program Goals At the elementary level, the guidance program promotes successful achievement by assisting students in learning the skills and attitudes necessary to be successful. It emphasizes decision making, skill development, awareness, and beginning exploration of future educational and occupational possibilities. The program also stresses self-concept development and the acquisition of skills in developing interpersonal relationships. Program Activities To accomplish these goals, the comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program is an integral part of the school system’s total educational program. Counselors work with all students, parents, teachers, administrators and the community through a balanced program of counseling and guidance services. Large and small group structured learning units provide systematic instruction for all students at all grade levels. Counselors Pre- K-2nd Grade Counselor is Ms. J.M.
