The Kindergarten Department of Hardeeville Elementary is looking forward to an exciting educational experience for your child. We want our class to be a safe and happy place where children can learn and develop socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. Our class rules are important, so please encourage your child to follow the rules at school, at home, and on the bus. We will be following the South Carolina Curriculum Standards for Kindergarten. The Standards list what students must know and be able to do by the end of Kindergarten. In Kindergarten our students will learn about · Science (weather, life cycles, hands on experiences, etc.) · Mathematics ( counting, number recognition, shapes, adding, etc.) · English Language Arts (speaking, listening, reading, writing) · Social Studies (citizenship, rules, families, community, country, etc.) · Health (safety, promote healthy practices, good nutrition, ect.) Your participation in the learning process of your child is so important. In order to know what is going on at school, we encourage you to attend parent conferences, workshops, and PTA, and to develop a good working relationship with the school.
